This is the best chilli ever! Super easy to prepare and not too spicy hot for me, but absolutely packed full of flavour and gorgeously rich and thick. I’m moving house and using up cupboard and freezer items so I swapped one tin of kidney beans for a tin of baked beans, and put in a goodly dollop of Bovril instead of a stock cube. Dark chocolate isn’t my thing but I did buy a 74% cocoa bar in the spirit of the recipe.
I was too tired to faff about after a long day, so just had a dollop of greek yoghurt, guacamole and some coriander on my serving. Glorious!

I usually use cocoa powder in mine for depth of flavour, that’s another option if you don’t have dark choc. And either half a tablespoon of brown sugar, or a quarter cup of apple puree to balance the acidity of the tomatoes.

Thanks!

Very easy to prepare and everyone loved it. Slight tweaks, I added lazy garlic and chilli. I was also making a smaller batch so used one tin of tomatoes and a little passata. Looking forward to some leftovers later 🙂
